Chattahoochee Technical College Launches Social Media Networks2/16/2010 - Starting February 1, Chattahoochee Technical College is now more “connected” than ever before. The college officially entered into the world of social media with the launch of the college’s social media networks. CTC will now be represented throughout a variety of social networks with a presence on Facebook, Twitter and through Blogs via WordPress.
“Our networking will be student led and student centered,” said Cheryl Forrester, Director of Print and Social Media. “This form of communication is another avenue for our students to become further connected to our college and to each other.”
According to Forrester, current CTC students were selected to lead the student blogger team that will “engage students, faculty and staff with their creative and poignant take on important and relevant topics currently being discussed by students.” The student blogs can be read by logging onto the college website and clicking on the WordPress logo.
“Since the launch of the social networks on February 1st, the feedback has been very positive,” Forrester added. “Our student bloggers are so excited to be leading this type of communication. Last reported they were averaging over 30 hits a day on their blog sites, which is excellent for having just launched the site. With the positive feedback we’re hoping to possibly add more student bloggers sometime in the near future.”
By becoming a Fan/Follower on the college Facebook and Twitter sites, students and staff have a chance to win gift cards by participating in the variety of trivia spots and contests on these sites.
