Pickens County Schools Spelling Bee Winner Andrew Haygood 
1/30/2010 - The Pickens County Schools annual Spelling Bee was held on Monday, January 25, 2010. Students from the four elementary and two middle schools of the County participated in the Spelling Bee.
Andrew Haygood, a 7th grade student at Jasper Middle School, became the Pickens County Spelling Bee Winner after a stimulating contest of words. Andrew wins this honor for the second consecutive year.
Andrew is involved in 4-H Club, President of Student Council, band, and Library Dragons. He is also a member of the Math Team, Academic Team, and Reading Bowl Team. He reads and plays the saxophone in his spare time.
Andrew will represent Pickens County at the GAE District 2 Spelling Bee on February 27, 2010.
